Thassa.com was designed as a home for the Gorean community with an open door policy to any and all BDSM participants that sought a new home. For many years, Gorean and BDSM rooms have co-existed on irc servers. Many Goreans first discovered Gor through BDSM and found the ritualistic nature of the Master/slave relationship to be more in keeping with their personal philosophies after a thorough examination of themselves within the structure of the Dominant/submissive relationship. I have always viewed online communities to be important in the pursuit of self discovery and meeting other people of like minds. In keeping with that, all policies that will be defined on this server will be designed for the safety, security and emotional well being of all participants. Regardless of your personal preferences, all interactions through an online venue are entered into by willing and consenting participants.

Thassa is designed to be a free chat venue. No fees or dues will be required to participate. Every person that creates a room on the Thassa server will expected to run their room within the confines of our policies. Every effort will be made by room owners to keep underage participants off the server. No room owners will be allowed to run Bot-Nets, Clone-Clusters, Open Proxy Systems or provide child pornography through DCC File servers. Any participant on the Thassa server that issues real life threats or acts in a manner that is inconsistent with the ideals of safe consentual interaction will be banned from this system, and in some cases all pertinent information will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies. Each room owner will have complete autonomy in running their rooms without outside interference from the system irc operators as long as they do not break system policies.

There will be an equal amount of IRCops selected from both the Gorean Community and the BDSM Community, in order to insure a balanced representation from both groups. I know that many of you have suggestions and concerns, and I welcome you to sign up in our forum and voice those issues as you wish. Every system operator agrees that once they have assumed the role of ircop, that they no longer belong to any individual room or school of thought. Their one common goal is to provide a safe community that welcomes people from any walk of life wishing to make their home here.
